ABOUT THE BOOK:  William Cullen Bryant was an American romantic poet, journalist, and long-time editor of the New York Evening Post. Born in Massachusetts, he started his career as a lawyer but showed an interest in poetry early in his life. He soon relocated to New York and took up work as an editor at various newspapers.  Thanatopsis, perhaps his most famous poem, is a poem of encouragement and reverence for life and death.

CONDITION:  Book is in AMAZING condition for its age (75 YEARS OLD) with only a few minor rubs to the tips of the spine.  The slipcase has a little bit of fading to the spine, very normal for these old editions (SEE PICS FOR FURTHER DETAILS). NO ATTACHED BOOKPLATES, WRITING FROM PREVIOUS OWNER, ETC.  It is a GORGEOUS EDITION.
