The SCALANCE X201-3P IRT, SCALANCE X202-2P IRT and SCALANCE X200-4P IRT (Isochronous RealTime) are the first SIMATIC NET Industrial Ethernet realtime switches of the SCALANCE range with integrated ERTEC (Enhanced RealTime Controller) and SC RJ POF/PCF FOC (Polymer Optical Fiber, Polymer Cladded Fiber) interface, which is standard for PROFINET. With their different combinations of electrical RJ45 and optical SC RJ ports the switches are ideally suited for the design of Industrial Ethernet star, line and ring structures, with reconfiguration times of under 300 ms (integrated redundancy manager). The FOC interface can be used to connect SIMATIC NET POF and PCF cables via suitable  SC RJ plugs.

Due to the use of the “Cut Through“ switching mechanism, the switches optimally fulfill PROFINET realtime requirements.

With the integrated ERTEC chip, the SCALANCE X-200IRT switches are of particular advantage in PROFINET networks, where PROFINET message frames are now passed on with priority.
