Description

Perennial to 70cm often grown as an annual in cool climates. This tufted aromatic grass originates from East India and has a strong lemon flavour. Lemongrass is commonly used in Asian cuisine as a flavouring in stir-fry, soups, curries, salads and as a seasoning for chicken and fish dishes. A tea can be made from dried leaves. Fast growing and tolerant of poor soil conditions and drought once established. Also known as "Malabar grass" or "Cochin grass".

 

How to sow and grow:

Method: Raise seedlings or sow direct

When: Spring, summer and autumn
Row Spacing: 45cm
Position: Full sun, moist well drained soil
Plant Spacing: 25cm
Hardiness: Frost Tender

About our seeds

We have a large range of seed varieties that contains most common vegetables, herbs and flowers as well as many other rare and uncommon types.

We specialise in vegetable, herb and flower seeds but also carry some fruit, native and other ornamental seed varieties.  Our catalogue of seed varieties is always expanding.

  • Our seed varieties are Heirloom and open-pollinated
  • We don't sell hybrids and we don't sell GMO's.
  • None of our seeds are chemically treated.

All of our seed is of the highest quality available and is sourced from reputable seed producers. 

Standard seed packets

Seeds are packaged in small sealed plastic bags that are approximately 50 x 85mm in size.  The bags are labelled with common name, botanical name, lot number, a variety description and basic sowing information.  Additonally all order are also shipping with general sowing instructions and planting advice. 

Quantity of seeds per packet depends on the variety but at a minimum we try and give enough seeds for an average home gardener.  (See descriptions to view seed counts. Note: Seed counts are only approximate and to be used as a guide only)

Payment Options:

We accept payment through PayPal or Visa/Mastercard. All of our items require immediate payment. (If you wish to purchase multiple items use the 'Add to Cart' buttons to combine postage and payment.)

Postage:

We send Australia wide including WA and TAS.  We do not send internationally.   

We use Australia Post to deliver most orders.  Occasionally we may use a courier to deliver larger orders.

We normally dispatch paid orders same or next business day. 

Expected delivery time is 1-6 business days depending on your location.  However we do not consider mail missing until at least 20 business days have passed. After this time, if the order has not been recieved we will resend the order using express post at no cost to you

Quarantine Restrictions:

We send orders to all states and territories in Australia including Tasmania and Western Australia.  However due to Quarantine restrictions some or our products are not allowed in certain states; these are all marked in the item descriptions. (eg: "NOT TO WA") If you accidentally purchase a product that is restricted in your state, we will remove it from your order and provide you with a refund.  If applicable, the remainder of your order will be processed.     

Returns Policy:

Goods qualify for return if item is not as described or damaged on arrival.  We do not offer returns for any other reason.

In the event of items being damaged or faulty on arrival a refund or replacement will be given.  If goods arrive damaged we must be contacted within 48 hours of delivery.

Terms of sale:

- All prices include GST where applicable.

- Once payment has been made, orders cannot be cancelled, added to or modified.

- SEED COUNTS: Seed counts are approximate and provided as a guide only.  Seeds are measured by volume or weight.

- SEED USE: Our seeds are to be used for propagation only.  Any reference to edible seed refers to the resultant crop only.

- AVAILABILITY: We aim to keep our inventory as accurate as possible.  However from time to time errors may occur and we may not be able to fulfill an order.  In this instance we will refund the customer for any omitted items and if applicable process the remainder of the order.

- IMAGES AND DESCRIPTIONS: All information provided in this listing including but not limited to: product images, plant images, produce images, cultural advice, treatments, and descriptions are provided in good faith.  The information is for general information purposes only and while every attempt has been made to make this information as accurate and complete as possible some errors and omissions may remain.
