
Perennial to 70cm often grown as an annual in cool climates. This tufted aromatic grass originates from East India and has a strong lemon flavour. Lemongrass is commonly used in Asian cuisine as a flavouring in stir-fry, soups, curries, salads and as a seasoning for chicken and fish dishes. A tea can be made from dried leaves. Fast growing and tolerant of poor soil conditions and drought once established. Also known as "Malabar grass" or "Cochin grass".
