Item for sale is a rare postcard from France, c. 1915, featuring three famous figures from World War 1:  General Paul Pau, General Joseph Joffre, and President Raymond Poincare.  Creator uses puns to make phrases using their names.  I believe the phrases invoke French colloquialisms and have meaning beyond the nonsensical literal translation.  The first phrase means something close to "You'll get beaten up..."

"Afin que votre Peau soit bien tannee | J'offre une de ces formidables tripotees | A l'aide d'un solide Poing carre."

"So that your skin is well tanned | I offer one of these formidable fiddles | using a solid square stitch.
