FIRST WHA Minnesota New Fighting Saints Game Ticket Stub - Oct. 09, 1976

On October 9, 1976, the WHA's NEW Fighting Saints took to the ice for the first time (season opener) in their flashy new red, yellow and white uniforms. Same logo, different team as the former ownership group failed to complete the season in 1975-76. The team that played the 1976-77 WHA season was actually the former Cleveland Crusaders who had moved to St. Paul after the NHL Cleveland Barons took over their market. The ticket is the Racers Game 1 stub from the match, held in Indianapolis. Once again, the NEW Fighting Saints failed to complete the season, folding in January of 1977. A nice affordable inaugural game ticket.
