Here's your opportunity to own a truly remarkable, incredibly rare, vintage tennis poster, featuring all-time legend Chris Evert! This incredibly rare poster comes from the late days of the Studio One poster company, who hit it big earlier in the 1970s with the Mark Spitz "6 Gold" poster, spun that into a poster empire, but got stung with the competition of upstart competitor Marketcom Inc. in '78 and lost it all. Nonetheless, their 1978-79 "White Border"/signature series set the standard for Marketcom for the next decade - they copied it for their Sports Illustrated line and rolled with that design for a decade. This one was sponsored by Chrissy's racquet partner of the era, Wilson, and features an awesome c.1978 action shot of the tennis superstar of the era in action, getting ready to return a backhander with true intensity and style. We don't need to go on and on about this poster - if you've been looking for it, or for rare '70s tennis items, this is for you and you're going to go for it no matter what. This one is was never-hung, so no pinholes, tape marks, color fading, or anything else significant - although note that the poster was "sqished" in its original wrapper, causing several lines of crease-marks running up-and-down the poster towards the center-left (you can see it on the picture included in the listing here). If perfection is what you're looking for, do not buy this poster - but if you want an unbelievable classic display item and legendary collector's item, this is for you! These old 1970s "White Border" posters are becoming harder and harder to find, so we're loath to give this one up, but we know it will find a worthy home with a serious collector who's been looking for it forever!
