This listing is for a first day of issue, from the United States Postal Service.
It features a 22 cent stamp commemorating the 200th anniversary of Delaware's statehood. The stamp has pair of men in period clothing holding a flag in between them. One of them men is holding a model ship. On bottom it states, "December 7, 1787," and "USA 22," both in black print. Below that, "Delaware" is in red print. It has been post marked at the Dover, Delaware 19901 post office on July 4, 1987 to commemorate this event.
On the left side sitting on a background of red velvet is a replica of the stamp in 22 carat gold overlay.
The back of the envelope is sealed and it has a statement about the production agreement of the gold stamp. An information card is included.
Envelope is in great shape. No stains, tears, jagged edges or worn spots. This will be a great addition to your stamp collection or gift it to another collector. It would also look fabulous in a frame!
