My classic car (Triumph TR5) has no interior lights as standard, and being a convertible, it is difficult to get lights above the dash. I wanted something very small and discrete. Two of these fitted neatly underneath the interior mirror (cool white) and two in the footwells (green to match the carpets). The results are superb, and very reasonably priced too.

BTW... these come on every night from dusk to dawn via a 12volt power adapter plugged into a photocell outdoor timer. And I actually used 50, not 40. 100% still functioning several years later. Going to replace several 12 Volt 20 watt halogen bulbs in our landscape pathway lights with two or three of these to save a lot of money on energy costs and annaul bulb replacement. Not to mention the cost associated with landscapers replacing the burnt-out bulbs. We have around 30 copper and glass pathway lights to convert. That is a huge amount of energy savings. They will pay for themselves. Direct halogen bi-pin replacement LEDs (purchased elsewhere) failed after a few short months. Knowing these 5050 last, it's a no brainer for me. I will post pics of conversion process and end result. Cheers.

I'm using a few of the RGB 5050 units as part of the ambient lighting system I designed for my 2015 Ford Fusion. They work very well lighting the cup-holders and the forward console bay. I used 6" encapsulated flexible strips for the front foot-wells and under the seats. The problem is that the mounting tape DOES NOT hold up very well in the automotive interior environment, even when you degrease and clean the surface you are mounting them to. I was able to remove the tape from the 6" strips and replace it with the proper 3M automotive trim tape. The single 5050 units are too delicate to remove the tape, but so far just adding a same-size square of the 3M tape on top of whatever Oznium used has worked, just making it a little taller. My ambient lighting system cost a small fraction of what Ford charges for their add-on version, and is MUCH better!

My wife's motorcycle turn signals do not self cancel so quite often she would ride for miles before turning them off. I took two of these (blue) and mounted them to the windshield bracket and then ran the wires into the headlight bucket and connected them to the turn signals. They worked perfectly and no way you can forget to cancel the turn signal. Much cheaper than the canceling device for sale on the Internet and they look neat too. Going to wire some red ones to the tail light and stick them to the license plate frame.

I made a costume for Halloween last year and wanted to incorporate and LED into the mask I was wearing. I bought 2 red surface mounts in case one of them wasn't bright enough I would use the 2nd one too. The first one was definitely bright enough and I held on to the unopened one in case the ribbon on the one ripped or broke I had another to replace it. I didn't have to worry about that at all, and it held up for the entire run of the haunted hayride I was working at. Very bright and received many compliments on it. Still have the 2nd one still in it's package and I just ordered 2 different ones for my costume this year. The one from last year is still going strong too.

I bought 15 blue LEDs and they installed fine. I put one in each cup holder, one in each speaker grill, and one in each door handle. The ones on the inside held up fine the ones I installed worked fine until this past winter. All 4 of them went out and it was a couple days after the 365 day warranty, so I didn't bother with trying to get them replaced. I wish they would have lasted longer than that in those handles and the wiring isn't pinched or crimped any where. I guess the ice got in the lights and pulled the connections apart. I got alot of complements on them when they did work. I will put another type in there next time, but they will come from oznium

bought these to put in my cupholder, haven't installed yet but i'm chomping at the bit to do so! I tested em tonight on a 9v battery, and they are already way brighter than the 5mms in my vents, even with reflective tape (for an even glow). I can't imagine what they'll be with a full 12v pumpin through em ;) super happy, and a super easy install, just remember to wire in parallel (power to power, ground to next ones power, etc). super happy with these lights, well worth the little extra money.
ps I have red for my cupholders, and 4 blue I have yet to decide their destiny

I purchased 10 of the RGB lights and they are a little bit bigger than the solid color ones. These little lights are bright and with the simple RGB controller there is a ton of colors u can make with the little controller. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the wiring it has one red and 3 black and u don't know which black wire goes to the rEd blue and green. It would make the install easier if they was color coded to each color. Just had to write down which wire was which for a big install so u don't end up with green on one side and red on the other. Over all great product.

I ordered the Superflux, Surface mounts and regular 5 mm LED's to see what they did.

The Surface mounts are my favorites. Great if you want to PROJECT AMBIENT LIGHT. They throw a broad, even light.

Superflux are powerful, much brighter and also a nice even light.

5mm LED's are not appropriate for projecting light. They make a great light to be seen. Like an indicator, brake light, etc.
They have a poor light pattern, basically useless as ambient lighting.

The Surface mounts are great. Very small, tape style wires you can literally fit between the part lines of dash trim and SMOOTH light throw- not spotty or uneven

Nice that Oznium offers this variety. I'm definitely ordering more of these.

I was looking to add some accent lighting to my car's storage locations below the stereo in the dashboard, and of course Oznium was able to fill that request.

These lights were a lot smaller than I was expecting, but when I wired them up and hit the switch, I was blown away. Even in the middle of the day they are incredibly bright. Easy to install, especially with the double sided tape and the thin ribbon connecting to them.

If you need a small, low-profile way to add some major lighting, these are the way to go.

I got ten of them and I keep finding new things to do with them used them As replacement Dash lights and glove boxes. The Thin flat wire is amazing for getting in places where you would have to drill a hole for standard wires. While the LED its self takes up very little space and you really have to look to find it with out it on. I just recently did a late night dash lights for a friends car the gauge cluster wouldn't allow me to drill for standard leds and a strip would have blinded her. These came in amazingly handy for the moment they slipped under the dash and look as if they were not even installed at all. I will get pictures at some point for you Phil when I do a more permanent job later.

I will be making these a standard thing to have on hand in my shop. I have plans on putting these in my tool boxes. As I said These have a near limitless potential. Thanks Phil for this always great product you have come out with.

I needed a small light under my heater/AC controls in my Toyota FJ, as the factory didn't put any there so I could see the cupholder and 4WD stick after dark. The adhesive back and flat cable were exactly what the project needed, the LED units are very low profile and I was able to snake the cable between the plastic molding with no pinches.

I will say that they are just a bit brighter than what I wanted but that was easily fixed by putting a dot in the center of the lens with a sharpie marker to help diffuse the light on both of them.

I will take some pictures and add them later.

i really like how these leds are flat. this makes them perfect for putting them in tight places or under things that you want to light up. they are very bright, the two i have light up the inside of my car. i put them in my 07 chevy impala in the cup holder up front and drilled two holes through the rubber insert so you cannot see anything but light. i have not yet found anything major that i dont like, the only thing is where the wires are heat shrinked together was two big around so i had to drill a bigger hole than i wanted to pull the wires through other than that i think this is a great product and will be buying more of these in the future once i can find a place for them. thanks for the great product you guys are the best.

I ordered these to put on my Goldwing. I just bought 2. I already have quite a bit of LED's on it. I was thinking that because of the small size, they might be interesting to place.
When I got them (thanks to Oznium's usual quick mailing service) I immediately hooked them up to a 12 volt power supply, at my desk. I could not believe the amount of light coming from this little LED. I bought the blue ones. It actually hurt my eyes to look directly at them too long. Great job, Oznium. I'm afraid, I am going to have to order some more. I have shown them to several people and they too, cannot believe how bright they are. When I get the installation done, I'll send some pics.
If you are undecided about ordering these. Do it.... You won't be disappointed.....

I think this thing might be the best LED I've ever bought, it's incredibly bright (especially for it's size), and can be placed just about anywhere. I used them in multiple locations: behind the door panels at the speaker grilles, under the dash - in the kick area, cup holders, dash cubbies/pockets, interior door handles, door pockets, and in the brake-cooling ducts. The LEDs are nice and small, easy to manipulate, and the flat ribbon wire that extends from the module adds to the ease of installation. All of them are wired to a master switch that can turn them on, or off, or have them come one with the headlights by wiring them into the parking lights.

Overall, they are inexpensive, very bright, and incredibly versatile.

I used them for a film commercial. I had to hide them in various place on medical equipment to add highlights to the product. I wired them together and used a 4 pin DC connector to my battery belt. I found the color of both the warm white and blue very appealing. The low profile of the surface mount and its flexibility made putting them in little nook and crannies very easy. I was a bit hesitant to use paper tape to hold the ribbon to a surface because I did not know how the ribbon would react to pulling the tape off. So, I did that very carefully. Since I do not mount them for one time use I need to come up with a system of storage that does not damage the LED or the ribbon. I also appreciated the color code on the wires. I would love to see the product expand into clusters, maybe in equal denominations of 4, 8, 12. For my purposes it would be nice to have the lead wires in a black jacket and the black and red sticking out an inch on the end. It would be easier for me to hide and tape up. I give you a 9 out of 10.

This LED did everything it promised to do. Excellent output, a very wide spread (lit up a 6.5" speaker, mounted approx. an inch away), and a compact size. The only issue I have is the length of the ribbon - this LED would be perfect for installs such as mine if the ribbon was perhaps 0.5"-1" longer. After the ribbon ends, there is some heat-shrink wrapped wiring which is round and irregular in shape, and makes securing the wires a bit difficult. In my application you are able to see the ribbon and it took a lot of carefully-applied tape to keep the ribbon flat and in a straight line. (See the action shots to see what I mean, mine is the blue LED-lit speaker next to a red-lit footwell.)

Despite this minor flaw, I definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to put a bright light source in a limited space. Another innovative and useful product from Oznium.

My '01 Pathfinder doesn't have a front dome light. There are map lights but activated by a switch. I tapped into my central dome light and cut out the toggle switch on the rear view mirror and glued the Prewired Surface Mount (white)LED there. The flat ribbon wire fits great through the mirror housing. Now, I have front overhead lights when the doors open or I can turn the feature off from the main switch which also turns off the passenger dome light.

When I got them and took them out of their baggy, my first thought was "Man! Thats a lot of lead wire!" My second was about how small they were. from the photos i pictured something a little bigger but i was pleased to see just how small they really were. next I plugged them in to test them out and BANG! These compact little L.E.D's put out a lot of light and take up no space, perfect for the application I needed them for. I used these L.E.D's along with ozniums 4chip super bright L.E.D's to create ground effect lighting for a frame and engine. I was able to undermout these L.E.D's to the frame for lots of light without having to drill any holes for mounting. Next project I build will definately have these L.E.D's on it.

These tiny little lights are the brightest LED's I have bought from Oznium. I put my in my cup holder and it was easy instillation. I drilled a small hole in the corner of my cup holder where i couldn�t see the hole and slid the wires through and the paper thing strip makes it easy to hide. Without a water bottle in the cup holder the light is so bright my ceiling of my car was take up by this light. With a water bottle in it it is so much cooler and still just as bright. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to make a huge accent to there car and impress anyone that sees it.

The lights are actually amazing and extremely bright. I had a full size 12 inch LED tube ripped open and wrapped around inside each of my cup holders before i ordered these surface mount LEDS. Now ive got an easily hidable led in each cup holder. And the best part is that it is just as bright :D Ill be posting action shots tonight as soon as i get the chance.

You can't go wrong with these lights. Installed some blue and white variety on my friend's motorcycle. I like the size of the LEDs. They hide so well. And talk about bright! Other memebers of my bike group are interested in some themselves. I will be ordering more.

These LED's are perfect for cup holders or air vents because it is just so small and comes with the perfect amount of pre-attached wire, it only took me 10 minutes to install i am definitely going to buy more

These lights are perfect for cup holder lighting or where space is limited.

First impressions ... wow! I am adding lights to my daughter's PowerWheel Escalade and the I needed something that surface mounted. I wired eight of these up in the underbody and turned the lights off ... the whole garage was lit up! Construction looks first rate and I will post come pictures once I have everything put together. I was shocked how bright this thing is. I foolishly looked right at it when I hooked up the power and was blinded! Going to use these for a backup light project on my '03 Aztek. Way bright and good light spread. Awesome product Oznium!!!
