A collection of fascinating articles about almost every aspect of the animal kingdom, from apes and jungle animals, vampire bats and termites, poisonous snakes to animals of the Arctic and Antarctic, and other subjects of general interest such as the secrets of animal camouflage and how animals play together. This is a large book (page size exceeding A4) of nearly 350 pages with fine black & white illustrations on every page; there are also 6 full-page colour photographs. Each of the 32 chapters has been contributed by different experts in the subjects of zoology, natural history and exploration. Amongst the most delightful features of this book are the photographs showing animals interacting with humans in 1920s costume. The book is undated, but references in the text as well as those photos which include humans indicate that it was published in c. 1928.
