JEAN HARLOW, 1950s Repro Photo

About the Photo:

This photo comes from the estate from a collector who passed away in 1976. His collection of Harlow photos came from, or were purchased from, 2 sources during the 1950s. The photos were found with 2 mailing envelopes.

Envelope #1 was addressed to David Levin, 1950s manager of the RKO Albee in Providence, Rhode Island from RKO Pictures in New York. The collector may have gotten some of the photos from the manager as he was a frequent patron of the theater.

Envelope #2 was addressed to the collector’s home in the 1950s from Irving Klaw of New York. Mr. Klaw’s business sold movie star reproduction photos to consumers.

*See both photos of the envelopes. They are not included with the sale of this photo.*

Size and Condition:

Excellent (B)*. This black and white glossy portrait measures 8” x 10”. For the most part, it is still true black and white. The white border is white. There is slight surface wear and creases that can be seen by tilting the photo. The photo was oddly trimmed on the right hand side, but the image is intact.

The back of the photo is clean with no writing.
