This listing is for a RARE Tiffany Studios NY CHINESE pattern bronze master inkwell #1753 with original glass insert, c. 1910. The Chinese pattern is not found as often as some of the other Tiffany bronze inkwells and the larger master inkwell is even harder to find. Marked on base "Tiffany Studios NY, 1753". The inkwell is in pyramidal form with hinged lid, has a verdigris finish and sits on four rectangular feet. The pattern is an Art Nouveau design that uses motifs influenced from archaic Chinese symbolism. The verdigris finish has its original naturally aged patina.
Measures 5" high and is 6 1/2" square. Weighs 4.11 pounds.
This fabulous inkwell is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws or repairs. The glass insert is also in good condition with no major chips or cracks reflecting only minor signs of normal wear. The hinge is in good condition and the lid opens and closes correctly.
