2000+ LEMON BALM MELISSA OFFICINALIS SEEDS — CITRONELLA HERB • NON-GMO • PATIO FRIENDLY
Welcome to The Green Grove Garden. We were active plant propagators and nursery owners for years, producing plugs and seedlings for our farm. That hands-on experience with storage, handling, and quality selection helps us deliver fresh seed you can trust.
Why You’ll Love Lemon Balm (Citronella Balm)
- Fresh lemon-citrus aroma: a fragrant herb that smells amazing when you brush past it.
- “Bug barrier” planting: many gardeners grow lemon balm in pots near patios, decks, doorways, and seating areas for its strong scent.
- Mosquito-repelling reputation: lemon balm is widely praised for helping discourage nuisance insects in outdoor living spaces.
- Bee-friendly blooms: delicate white flowers can attract honeybees and other pollinators.
- Versatile herb: popular in teas and summer drinks, and it’s a great companion flavor with mint, basil, and dill.
- Perennial & productive: hardy growth means you can harvest again and again through the season.
- Great for small spaces: thrives in containers on balconies and can be grown indoors as a bright-window houseplant.
Important disclaimer: Lemon balm is not an EPA-registered pesticide and we make no pest-control guarantees. Repelling results vary by climate, planting density, wind, and mosquito pressure. For areas with mosquito-borne disease risk, use proven protective measures and follow local guidance.
🌱 Quick “Sow & Grow” Guide
- Start indoors (recommended): sow 6–8 weeks before last frost, or direct sow once soil warms.
- Pre-moisten your mix: dampen seed-starting media first (evenly moist, not soggy), fill containers, then brush off extra media to keep the surface airy and clean.
- Sow: surface sow and press gently—seeds need light to germinate. Mist to settle.
- Germination: keep at about 65–70°F and uniformly moist; sprouts commonly appear in 7–14 days.
- Transplant/spacing: harden off and plant 18–24" apart, or grow in a container to keep it tidy.
- Containment tip: lemon balm can spread and self-seed—pots are perfect for patios and for “mosquito perimeter” placement.
- Harvest: begin snipping once established; frequent trimming keeps plants bushy and encourages fresh, fragrant growth.
