This pattern is a doggy knitters dream it is for 4 super styles of dog coat in D/K, three of which are knitted and the one modelled by the dalmatian (No.3) being crocheted which means a variety of breeds are catered for; from the long legged to vertically challenged and rounded to a Heinz 57 (see below for sizes). A delight of a pattern. Measurements and requirements to complete these coats are below.

D/K wool; one pair 4.5mm needles; stitch holders
Measurements-
length from top of collar- 35 [45]cm
Tension- 20 sts. and 26 rows = 10cm over stocking stitch using 4.5mm needles

Tension- 16 sts. and 12 rows = 10cm over pattern (1 row tr., next row d.c.) using 5mm crochet hook
