Czech cartoon and performed film Baron Prášil, filmed by Karel Zeman, inspired by Gottfried Bürger’s novella, follows the successful Karel Zeman’s previous film Vynález zkázy. The film won many awards, e.g. the XV. Locarno IFF, 1962 Silver Sail and XIII. FFP 1962.
Synopsis

Baron Munchausen finds a modern opponent - a young astronaut Toník. Along with him Baron experiences some of his most famous adventures on the Moon, where he meets Cyrano de Bergerac and astronauts, then he comes with his young friend on Earth. He kidnappes the sultan's princess Bianca and escapes with her. He experiences naval battle and wrecked ship. In the belly of a huge whale he passes all the oceans of the world and takes a ride on a seahorse. He wants the heart of beautiful princesses, but it already belongs to Toník.
