Vehicle Description

1967 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible

For consignment, a 1967 Chevrolet Corvette convertible showing 15,719 miles, but the true miles are unknown due to a PA title exemption. This one has a date correct engine, the correct carburetor and rear end stamping. It's entirely possible that Earl, who died in 1969, laid eyes on this stunner as it exited the St. Louis plant.

Exterior
Two stage Rally Red glimmers in better than new condition and has the option of being complemented by the white canvas soft top, the accessory hard top wrapped in black vinyl, or by the open air itself!  The body lines include a central, pointed bulge over the hood enhanced by raised fender points and hidden headlights that keep things streamlined over the front. Five functional vertical louvers gap the fenders and in epic fashion resembling the gills of a shark. 15-inch Chevrolet Rally wheels carry white lined 215/70R15 tires and the quad tail lights are reflected in the mirror like rear bumper over dual exhaust tips. The body, paint and trim are in excellent condition with few imperfections noted as some chips, spider cracks, orange peel like finish, and a touch of edgewear.

Interior
Simple, smooth, and stylish door panels in White plastic and vinyl greet those who enter this car and both doors have a touch of staining but are otherwise intact and trimmed with black trim bordered in polished molding. Low back white leather bucket seats sit squarely with the back and show the typical discoloration associated with white and some compression but remain intact. Behind, a fully carpeted storage area in red looks fresh. The brown rimmed steering wheel is triple spoked and features the cross flag emblem in the center and the instrument panel is "a devotee's delight, safety padded and covered in red, replete with "those instruments so important to the serious driver," according to the sales brochure. The unblemished center stack waterfall contains a race inspired clock, control knobs, and the AM/FM radio while the chrome shifter sits in a  base with a gear diagram and parking brake just behind it. Red twist carpet is in excellent condition and is protected by vintage translucent rubber mats.

Drivetrain
Looking showroom fresh under the hood is 327ci L79 V8 with 350 horsepower. While the block does have a matching VIN, the casting date is May 24th. The engine assembly date is April 1st and the car's estimated build date Is May 4th.This is most likely a restamp. Fuel is fed by the correct Holley 4-barrel carburetor backed by a 1968-1970 Muncie M20 4-speed manual transmission. This is sending power to the rear axle with 3.36 gears and Positraction. Power brakes and power steering is supplied.

Undercarriage
We have a wonderfully clean underside where you'll find power disc brakes on all four wheels, dual exhaust traveling through stock style mufflers in back, and suspension consisting of coil springs up front and Corvette's system of a frame mounted differential, tubular axle drive shafts, transverse strut rods, torque control arms, and transverse leaf springs in back.

Drive-Ability
We fire up this stock specimen up and roll some red across the test loop. There are no surprises here and while Corvettes have come a long way in 60 years, there's nothing quite like the visuals of classic '67 Corvette on the road. It does everything well and we're happy to report that all functions operate as intended and it's time to put this one under the lights. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

Here's a final year C2 Corvette that is ready for show and go! The classic lines of the Vette render this car an iconic piece of American automotive history and well worth a look for the discerning collector or first time buyer. Car Specialists are standing by.
