A charming vintage hand-painted wooden icon figurine depicting the Madonna and Child. This lovely piece of religious folk art features a minimalist silhouette cutout design depicting the Virgin Mary clad in a blue mantle with the Christ child, both adorned with gold painted halos.

The front of the rectangular wooden block plinth features an authentic hand-written inscription that reads Virgin Mary along with a faint handwritten artist signature or workshop notation that has softly faded into the whitewashed wood base over time. The back of the silhouette is left unpainted, showcasing the natural texture of the wood grain.

Good vintage condition with no major chips, structural cracks, or splits to the wood. The paint remains clear and retains a lovely, soft aged matte patina. There is some light, honest surface wear, minor paint loss along the narrow edges, and faint wood grain texture showing through the paint consistent with vintage age and handling.
