I've just upgraded the band mixer and this mixer finds itself looking for a new home.  It has been well looked after, although there are a few marks (fair wear and tear). The wear and tear doesn't include missing knobs, cracked jack sockets or the vulnerable power input - they are all good. Everything works as it should.

One modification I have made is to add a knob to the left hand side of the mixer to enable the back to be raised and to be rested on a rail at the rear edge of the case. Firstly doing this presents the mixer at a better angle to make it more visible (I play guitar in the band but am also responsible for riding faders) and to enable the power supply to be connected reducing the potential for damage - the pics show the know. I used an existing threaded hole in the mixer chassis.

In use the 100mm, full size, faders are a real advantage over more common budget mixers 60mm and they are all working without being scratchy. Here's some info from Soundcraft;

"FX8 is ideal for both stage and studio use, and is particularly suitable for live recording.FX8 is a flexible 4-bus mixer capable of producing Digital sound quality for both live and recording applications. It features a specially designed 16 program Lexicon Effects Section with dual effect capability (including Chorus and Reverb, Chorus and Delay , and Reverb and Delay) and fully editable and storable programs and parameters., The console itself includes 8 mic/line inputs and 18 inputs to mix in total (including 4 stereo inputs and tape return to mix). In addition to the mix outs, two sub-buses allow groups of instruments to be sent to multitrack, to additional speakers, or sub-grouped to mix. FX8's 8 Direct Outs are individually fader pre-post switchable so they are equally useful for recording in the studio or at a gig."

The case is made of good grade ply with four catches and knuckle type corners. It rests on four rubber feet when on a table with the mixer in it - stops it sliding - and four small rubber fitted to the edge opposite the handle. The covering/tolex on the case is 'scabby' but that doesn't affect the case in terms of it's ability to protect the mixer.
