About the camera

The Yashica Minister D is a compact 1960s Japanese 35mm coupled rangefinder. It has a Yashinon 45mm f/2.8 lens in a Copal leaf shutter (1/500 to 1 s plus B) and a separate light meter for manual exposure. It is a good parts camera, or a user once you use an external meter.

What is wrong

• Light meter does not work. Use an external meter or the Sunny 16 rule.
• Dent in the lens ring. No lens filter can be fitted.
• Light seals are original and likely aged.
• Not tested with film. Shutter speed accuracy is not verified.

What works

• Shutter fires at all speeds, including B, and holds open on B.
• Aperture ring and blades move.
• Rangefinder is clean and focuses.
• Focus ring turns smoothly.
• Film advance and film door latch work.
• Lens is clear, with some dust and no scratches.

Condition

Good overall. Minor scratches on the body and leatherette in good shape. Battery cover is present.
