Offered for sale is a rare early The Varlet Beehive shaving brush, produced in the USA during the early years of The Varlet.

This is the original 24mm Beehive specification, rather than one of the larger later-generation versions. A particularly interesting piece for collectors of artisan shaving brushes and early Varlet history.

Brush & performance

The brush features a dense 2-Band Badger knot with a combination of good backbone and soft tips, making it particularly well suited to face lathering.

The relatively compact 24 mm knot gives the brush a controlled feel and excellent precision compared with the larger Beehive models.

Condition

The handle is in excellent collector condition, with no visible chips, dents, cracks or major imperfections.

The original THE VARLET / USA engraving remains clean and clearly visible.

The knot is clean, healthy and shows no noticeable shedding.

A note for collectors

This is an early 24 mm Beehive, dating from the early period of The Varlet. These earlier examples are considerably less commonly encountered than many of the later/larger Beehive versions.
