The Band - Music From Big Pink

Capitol SKAO 2955 (Stereo) · 1968 · LP · USA

1968 ORIGINAL FIRST-YEAR JACKET · FACTORY SEALED

Why this is an original 1968 pressing

  1. Rear jacket top-left reads "STEREO - Playable on Stereo & Mono Phonographs" with the Capitol dome logo. Capitol printed this stereo/mono compatibility line during the 1968 changeover, when mono LPs were being phased out - it dates this jacket to the album's first year.
  2. Stereo compatibility notice on the back cover ("This stereo record can also be played on modern monophonic equipment...") with the Capitol and EMI logos - original late-1960s Capitol wording that later 1970s reissue jackets dropped.
  3. Catalog SKAO 2955 on the rear and spine, with "STEREOPHONIC" printed on the spine.
  4. The original Bob Dylan painting front cover and pink-house back photo.

Condition

Factory sealed in the original shrink wrap and never opened. Because it is sealed, the record, its labels and the dead-wax/matrix numbers have not been seen. The identification above comes from the jacket text and markings shown in the photos. Greatest Hits $5.19 sticker on the front shrink. Vintage sealed jackets may show shelf wear, ring wear or seam stress under the shrink. Please review every photo - they are part of the description.

Shipping
