This is Dr. John's Zu Zu Man material - early New Orleans demo-era recordings - as issued by Springboard International.

  1. Springboard SP-4018, Springboard International Records, Inc., P.O. Box 436, Linden, New Jersey 07036. 'This album also available on 8-track stereo cartridge.'
  2. The same 9-track program was first issued in 1973 as Zu Zu Man on Trip Records (TLP-9518), Springboard's subsidiary label. This Springboard SP-4018 issue followed it, so it is not the first issue of these recordings.
  3. Tracks: Trader John (2 versions), Xmas In New Orleans (vocal and instrumental), Did She Mention My Name, Della, Zu Zu Man (2 versions), The Grass Looks Greener.
  4. Collector note: these are early, pre-fame recordings that Dr. John himself said were released without his approval - a sought-after curiosity for Dr. John and New Orleans R&B collectors, and hard to find sealed.

Condition

Factory sealed in the original shrink wrap and never opened. Because it is sealed, the record, its labels and the dead-wax/matrix numbers have not been seen. The identification above comes from the jacket text and markings shown in the photos. 99 cent sticker on the front shrink; Stereo Springboard logo on front. Vintage sealed jackets may show shelf wear, ring wear or seam stress under the shrink. Please review every photo - they are part of the description.
