Tested with Zelda (not included) - console fully working and all buttons on controllers fully working as expected.  Please see photos for condition (console shows some slight signs in places, of the usual yellowing/fading common on NES consoles).

Last 2 photos are just to show how you would connect to a TV - you can use the red/yellow cable or you can use a scart adaptor if your TV does not have the red/yellow ports (no Xbox scart included - just used as an example).  NES consoles can also be connected via an aerial cable (included) but can be difficult as you then need to tune your TV to find the channel.

Common issues on older systems (NES, SNES, Game Boys, etc) - you may need to reinsert and/or blow cartridge or cartridge slot a couple times to get a game going.
