Triner Scale & Mfg. Co.
Brass and Painted Metal Postal Scale
Industrial Style, Early 20th Century

This antique Triner Scale features a prominent brass dial set into a black painted metal body adorned with embossed wreath motifs on the side panels. Manufactured in Chicago, this scale represents the durable industrial design of early 20th-century American utility tools, designed for use in post offices or general store environments. The contrast between the weathered black housing and the aged brass face provides a strong antique aesthetic.

• "TRINER SCALE & MFG. CO. CHICAGO U.S.A." stamped on center of brass dial
• Painted metal construction with decorative embossed wreaths on sides
• Brass dial plate with engraved numerical increments up to 24 pounds
• Rectangular metal weighing platform
• Dimensions: 7.5" L x 6" W x 8" H

Condition: Good antique condition with significant signs of age and use. The black painted finish shows widespread chipping and paint loss, particularly on the base and side panels. The brass face has developed a dark, natural patina with surface oxidation. The top weighing platform exhibits surface staining and wear. The pointer mechanism is intact, though the scale has not been tested for modern weighing accuracy.
