Natural Fancy Yellow
|
| Set Of 4Four Pear Stones | 0.38 ctTotal · 9.5 Pts Each | VS2–SI2Clarity |
Four natural pear shape diamonds, 0.38 carats in total, averaging nine and a half points each. The colour is a natural fancy yellow, and this set shows how varied natural yellow can be. In the photographs the range runs from a deeper olive-bronze, through honey and golden yellow, to a soft pale yellow. It is a natural gradient, and it is the reason to buy the four together.
Nothing has been done to create or improve the colour. There is no treatment of any kind, and every shade in the set is the stones' own. Yellow is the most familiar of the fancy colours, but a natural set with this much tonal range, in a small pear shape that suits fine jewellery, is not something we see often.
Clarity runs VS2 to SI2, and varies from stone to stone. The cleaner stones need magnification to show inclusions. The SI2 stones may show inclusions to the eye in places. Please study the photographs closely before you bid. The teardrop outline also faces up larger than its weight suggests, so at nine and a half points each these wear bigger than the carat figure implies.
Minimal jewellery works when one detail is worth looking at. A natural yellow diamond, set alone in gold, is that detail.
Small stones in a natural colour do their best work in simple settings. There is no need for a halo or a crowd of side stones. Four pears in a range of yellows also allow designs that a single colour would not.
Signet ring, single stoneOur first suggestion. Choose the stone whose tone you like best and set it flush into the face of a gold signet, tip up or on the diagonal. Sunk into the metal, the fragile tip is protected, and the colour reads as a quiet, warm detail. |
Gradient row bandAll four pears in a line across a slim band, ordered from deepest tone to palest. The natural range becomes a soft ombré, which is the design this set is best suited to. |
Stacking ringsOne pear in each of four slim bands, worn together as a stack of yellows or one at a time. Also a good scale for a men's pinky ring. |
Drop earrings plus a ringChoose the two closest in tone for a minimalist pair of bezel-set drops, and keep the other two for a ring or pendant. Three finished pieces from one set, all clearly related. |
Four-petal clusterFour pears with their tips pointing outward, like petals. A small, modern, flower-like ring or pendant that does not rely on a halo. |
Bezel station bracelet or necklaceFour pears spaced along a fine chain, each in a thin bezel. A light, everyday piece where the shades of yellow show as a soft repeat. |
A note on setting pears: the tip is the most vulnerable point on a pear shape. A bezel, or a V-prong over the tip, keeps it safe. On metal, yellow and rose gold blend these tones into a warm glow. If you want the stones to stand out, white gold, platinum or blackened silver give more contrast and a cooler, more modern look. Brushed and satin finishes suit small stones better than mirror polish.
For jewellers and designers, four pears in one colour family make a practical parcel for custom commissions, capsule collections and repeat pieces. The stones are loose, so you choose the metal, the setting and the proportions.
Colour · Natural Fancy Yellow · Honey, Golden And Soft Yellow Tones
Yellow diamonds are described in many ways, and collectors, jewellers and designers each use their own words when they search. So you can find the right stones, these are the terms that apply to this set. The colour description is natural fancy yellow. In everyday language the stones are golden yellow and honey yellow, with one stone in a deeper olive bronze. They are pear shape loose diamonds, sold as a set of four, VS2 to SI2 clarity and untreated.
Two Separate Guarantees
These are natural mined diamonds, not laboratory grown. Not CVD, not HPHT grown, not synthetic, not simulants. All four stones came out of the ground.
No treatment of any kind has been applied. Not irradiated, not HPHT colour treated, not coated, not painted, not laser drilled, not fracture filled, not heated. The colour in every stone is its own.
Our guarantee on both points: if any stone is shown by a recognised gemmological laboratory to be laboratory grown, or to have been treated in any way, return the complete set within 30 days of delivery for a full refund including your testing costs.

Full Disclosure
This is a set of four and 0.38 carats is the total across all stones. Please do not read it as the weight of a single diamond. The average is nine and a half points per stone, and individual stones may differ around that figure.
The four stones are not the same colour. They share a shape, a colour family and a similar size, but the tones range from deeper olive-bronze through honey and golden yellow to a soft pale yellow. That range is natural and it is part of the appeal, but if you need four identical stones for a matched design, this set is not it. Study the main photograph, where the four are lined up in order.
Clarity varies from VS2 to SI2. Some stones are cleaner than others, and the SI2 stones may show inclusions to the eye in places. Look closely at the face-up photographs and decide whether they suit your design.
"Fancy yellow" is our plain description, not a laboratory grade. Our colour and clarity descriptions are our own visual assessment. A laboratory would grade each stone individually and may return different colour descriptions across the set, particularly for the deeper olive-bronze stone.
Pears carry a bow-tie, and a delicate tip. Most pear brilliants show a darker band across the centre where light escapes. It is inherent to the shape, not a fault in these stones. The tip is the most vulnerable point, so a bezel or V-prong is recommended.
No cut, polish or symmetry grades are offered, and millimetre measurements are not published in this listing. If you need dimensions, ask and we will measure the stones before you bid. For a bezel or a row setting, those measurements matter more than the carat weight.
Yellow reads richer under warm light and paler in cool daylight. It is worth seeing the photographs on a bright screen and imagining both lights before you decide.
