Beautiful vintage Japanese porcelain cabinet plate, approximately 10 inches in diameter, featuring an elaborate Famille Noire-style design with a dramatic dark background that makes the colorful floral and bird decoration stand out.

The plate features peonies, lotus blossoms, and swallows in flight, surrounded by a striking yellow border with floral medallions. The combination of the dark ground and vibrant decoration gives this piece the look of a traditional Japanese decorative cabinet plate.

Japanese decorative porcelain of this type was imported into the United States from approximately the 1920s through the mid-20th century and was often displayed in homes as decorative objects rather than used as everyday tableware.
