"Panda Family"
Marquetry (Wood Inlay) on Panel
23" x 18"
Signed and inscribed on verso

This intricate marquetry piece titled "Panda Family" is a collaborative work by M. Lancey and R. Kitchens, dated 1989. Executed with remarkable precision, the artwork utilizes a variety of natural wood veneers to create a multi-tonal composition of two adult pandas and a small cub amidst bamboo stalks. The artists have skillfully selected wood grains to represent the textures of the pandas' fur and the organic growth of the bamboo, demonstrating a high level of craftsmanship in the traditional wood inlay technique, originating from Ossining, NY.

• Hand-crafted marquetry featuring natural wood grain variations for depth and texture
• Inscribed on verso with title, artist names, date, and maintenance instructions
• Housed in a tiered wood frame that complements the earthy tones of the artwork

Condition: Good vintage condition. The marquetry surface is well-preserved with no lifting or significant scratches to the inlay. The wood frame shows minor surface wear and light scuffing at the corners consistent with age. The reverse side includes artist inscriptions and maintenance notes.
