Large antique door backplate or escutcheon for an older mortise-style lock assembly. The rectangular plate has a simple raised border, four mounting holes, a large upper circular opening and a smaller raised lower opening.

Measures approximately 8.5" x 2.25". The reverse is stamped 27631.

The metal retains an attractive aged brass/bronze appearance with tarnish, patina, scratches and wear from previous installation. This listing is for the backplate only; no lock, knob, cylinder, screws or additional hardware are included.
