Here we have a gorgeous antique Victorian Majolica jardiniere / planter. This has a wonderful Aesthetic Movement design with the body decorated with beautifully modelled, repetitive sunflower motifs and stylised foliage. The glaze shifts from honeyed amber tones into light and darker greens, pooling in the recesses and highlighting the relief. I have been unable to establish the exact maker, but I believe this is an English piece dating from around 1860–80. It is very grand and would suit a luxurious home, lobby or hotel entrance. It measures approximately 8.5 inches by 9 inches, weighing just over 2kg. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
