Philco model 38-12, code 121, built by the Philadelphia Storage Battery Company. Philco introduced it in June 1937 as the starter set of the 1938 line. It sold new for $22.50, the cheapest radio Philco made that year.
Walnut cabinet with a carved wave grille and an octagonal brass dial bezel. Philco also offered the same cabinet painted ivory. This is the walnut version. It measures 8 inches tall, 11 3/4 inches wide, and 7 inches deep.
Sold not working, for parts or restoration. It has not been serviced and the chassis is original. Both Philco labels and the tube chart remain on the cabinet. Original knobs and dial glass are included.
