Original LMS railway workshop engineering snap gauge for checking a specified turned diameter. The gauge is stamped LMS WM 246/1 to the reverse and DRG 15/802 to the front. It is also marked TURN SIZE together with tolerance figures on the measuring opening. Manufactured as a substantial precision steel workshop tool and showing surface wear and patination from use.
