Up for auction is this rare Great Bear Technology CAROLINES Presents Johnny Cocktails PC CD-ROM.
It is an interactive comedy simulation game released for PC CD-ROM in 1994.
The game was part of the "Interactive Insanity" line of software developed by Great Bear Technology. It was considered "lost media" for decades until its ISO file was rediscovered and shared online in early 2026.
The front and back cover inserts have a little bit of water damage but the disc itself is in excellent condition.
Key Gameplay Elements
- Stand-up Comedy Simulation: Players take on the role of Johnny Cocktails, an aspiring stand-up comedian performing at the real-life Manhattan comedy club, Carolines.
- Routine Building: Gameplay involves selecting from hundreds of pre-written one-liners, classic joke openings, and transitions to assemble a custom comedy set.
- Audience Interaction: During the routine, the player must manage a live virtual audience that dynamically responds by cheering, booing, or heckling.
- Targeted Insults: Players can actively interact with specific club archetypes in the crowd, such as a drunk, a young couple, or a lonely loser.
- Clay Animation Aesthetic: The game utilizes a distinct claymation art style to render the interior of the club and its characters.
- Professional Talent: The jokes were written by former National Lampoon editors, and Johnny Cocktails is fully voiced by stand-up comedian Bobby Slayton.
