Description
This is a genuine OEM GM / ACDelco Engine Control Module (ECM / PCM Computer) removed from a running donor vehicle. Built to factory automotive powertrain and emissions reliability standards featuring the proven GM E37 32-bit microcontroller architecture, integrated solid-state injector and coil drivers, a rugged die-cast aluminum heat-dissipation casing, and dual cam-locking multi-pin wiring harness headers, this primary powertrain computer carries GM Service Number 12618587. It is an ideal direct physical, mechanical, and electronic drop-in replacement. It directly resolves common Saturn Aura powertrain electrical issues including intermittent stalling, no-crank/no-start conditions, loss of ignition coil or fuel injector trigger pulse, "Engine Power Reduced" throttle actuator limp mode, internal 5V reference voltage circuit failures (P0641/P0651), or "Lost Communication with ECM" (U0100) Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
As an authentic factory General Motors component, this ECM features the exact bracket alignment tracks, grounding bosses, and dual cam-lever connector indexing designed to seat flush, secure, and vibration-free inside your vehicle's engine bay bracket. Communicating across GM’s high-speed GMLAN network, it coordinates directly with the Transmission Control Module (TCM), Body Control Module (BCM), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and Passlock / Anti-Theft immobilizer without the internal solder joint fatigue, bus timeouts, or sensor signal drift common with unverified aftermarket clone units. Every circuit trace, board ground, mounting tab, and terminal connector pin on this unit has been bench-tested and inspected.
Vehicle Compatibility
Please verify your vehicle's exact model year, engine size (2.4L 4-Cyl or 3.5L V6), transmission type, and matching Service Number (12618587) before purchasing. This engine computer fits:
Saturn Aura (XE, XR — 2.4L LE5 & 3.5L LZ4): 2008, 2009, 2010
Cross-Model Interchange Notice: This E37 hardware controller (Service Number 12618587) was also utilized across platform siblings such as the 2008–2010 Chevrolet Malibu, Pontiac G6, and Chevrolet Cobalt/HHR (2.2L/2.4L). However, internal vehicle flash calibrations differ. CRITICAL GM SPS2 FLASH RE-PROGRAMMING NOTICE: This module is NOT plug-and-play. It must be professionally programmed/flashed with your vehicle's specific VIN, vehicle calibration files, and Anti-Theft / Passlock security relearn using GM Techline Connect (SPS2) / Tech 2 or an equivalent J2534 pass-through diagnostic scan tool before the vehicle will start.
Important Installation Information
Direct Mechanical Bolt-In & Harness Installation: Park the vehicle on a level surface, shift the gear selector into Park, and turn off the ignition. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait 10 to 15 minutes prior to handling automotive engine electronics to prevent voltage spikes. Locate the computer mounted in the engine compartment next to the battery tray and fuse box. Swing open the cam-locking release levers on the two main wiring harness connectors and unplug both harnesses from the module. Unbolt or unclip the retaining fasteners securing the metal computer casing to the bracket and remove the old unit. Position this replacement OEM unit into the bracket, seat both wiring harness plugs straight into the headers, and swing the cam levers down until they audibly latch locked. Secure the mounting bracket fasteners, reconnect the negative battery cable, connect a clean 12V battery maintainer, and complete the GM SPS2 VIN flash, crankshaft position (CKP) variation relearn, and immobilizer security synchronization before attempting to start the engine.
Key Features
Fully Bench-Tested Internal Electronics: All internal 5V reference regulators, microprocessor bus circuits, and driver FETs operate within strict factory GM voltage tolerances with zero communication errors.
Rugged Die-Cast Aluminum Enclosure: Housing is structurally intact with zero cracks, bent mounting ears, or severe road-salt corrosion.
Corrosion-Free Dual Connector Bays: Both multi-pin terminal headers are clean, straight, dry, and completely free of bent pins, oxidation, water ingress, or melted plastic.
Factory Weather-Pack Gaskets: Connector header perimeter seals are intact to prevent moisture intrusion into the sensitive terminal pins.
Authentic OEM GM / ACDelco Markings: Features original factory identification label with clear, legible GM Service Number 12618587, E37 hardware codes, and production serial barcodes.
