Application Warning: Designed specifically for 2014–2018 3rd Generation Mini Cooper models factory-equipped with Full LED headlights (Option Codes S5A2 or S5A4). It will NOT fit older 2nd Generation models (2007–2013/2014 R56 / R57 / R58 / R59 / R60 with Xenon/HID) which mount headlights directly to the lifting hood instead of the body frame. It will also NOT work as a direct plug-and-play replacement on base models equipped with standard Halogen headlights without custom wiring harnesses and ECU coding. Does not include the snap-on exterior chrome/black decorative trim beauty ring unless specifically pictured.
Important Installation Information
Direct Mechanical Bolt-On & Factory Plug Installation: Park the vehicle on a level surface, engage the parking brake, and turn off the ignition. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait 5 to 10 minutes prior to handling electronic lighting components. Disengage the perimeter clips to remove the front decorative outer headlight trim ring. Loosen the front bumper cover fasteners to access the lower headlight retaining bolts. Remove the four Torx/hex mounting bolts securing the headlamp bracket to the front core support. Slide the headlight assembly forward, unlock the safety release lever on the main multi-pin wiring harness, and unplug the factory connector. If installing as a bare housing, transfer your original lower LED control module/heatsink to the new housing using new seals. Reconnect the wiring harness firmly, secure the mounting bolts loosely to align beam gaps with the hood and fender, torque down the bolts, snap the trim bezel back in place, and reconnect the battery.
