An uncommon 19th-century scientific volume containing astronomical and meteorological observations undertaken at the historic Radcliffe Observatory in Oxford.
This particular copy has especially interesting institutional provenance. It contains an original presentation label:
“Presented by the Radcliffe Trustees to The Observatory Liverpool.”
It also bears a Mersey Docks & Harbour Board – Liverpool Observatory stamp and subsequently became part of the University of Liverpool, Harold Cohen Library, retaining its library bookplate and accession markings.
A fascinating association copy connecting two important British astronomical institutions of the Victorian period.
