The Time Base Correction reduces unwanted jitters in image playback and functions in a similar manner to the anti-skip function on CD players by continuously saving the footage in a memory field then releasing it at regularly timed intervals. The interval gaps are unnoticeable to the human eye but dramatically reduce the skips and jumps often seen on home video. InfoLitium Sony's unique rechargeable battery lasts longer than any comparable power source. InfoLithium features a built-in chip that constantly monitors power consumption and lets you know on the LCD exactly how many minutes recording time you have left. It has no "memory effect" which means you can recharge at any time.
Sony's usual 20% digital noise reduction has been extended to both record and playback functions with Super Digital Noise Reduction that allows for greater image quality and will also enhance the performance of older tapes played back through the system.
