The actress wears a crown and holds a staff. There are symbols on the fabric that hangs down the center of her outfit. Pencil handwriting on the back: “Delval”.

A quick online search revealed this is Gabrielle Delval as Aïka in La Biche Au Bois (The Doe in the Woods). According to Les Archives du Spectacle: Gabrielle Delval played Princess Aïka in 1865 at the Théâtre de la Porte-Saint-Martin in Paris.

CONDITION. Photo: Spots and some soiling. Discoloration to the wall behind. Mount: Trimmed. Some wear at corners. A spot and light soiling on front. A few spots and soiling on back. 

APPEARANCE. Superb lighting. Very good tones except to the wall behind. Sharp details. Dramatic pose.
