Beautiful antique Webster sterling silver hinged tea strainer spoon, dating to approximately the early 1900s.
This unusual and collectible piece features an elongated spoon-style handle with a hinged, two-piece pierced strainer bowl. The hinged design allows the two halves to open for filling with loose tea and close together for steeping.
The handle is marked WEBSTER, along with the sterling mark/hallmark. Webster sterling tea infusers of this type are documented examples of early 20th-century silver tea accessories.
