Offered is a vintage Inuit soapstone sculpture by recognized Inuit artist Timothy Kutchaka of Inukjuak (Port Harrison), Quebec, Canada.

This striking hand-carved sculpture depicts a standing, hooded Inuit figure, carved from dark grey/black soapstone. The figure has a substantial, powerful form with a beautifully aged surface and visible characteristics of traditional hand-carved Inuit sculpture.

The underside is marked with "E9-774" along with the artist's marking/signature. The E9-774 artist disc number is associated with Timothy Kutchaka.

Interesting Original Feature

There is an intentional opening through one of the figure's hands. This appears to have been incorporated into the original carving to accommodate a separate implement, possibly a spear, harpoon, hunting tool or line/rope.

No separate implement is included with the sculpture, and I am not claiming a specific original accessory without documentation. The opening is clearly visible in the photographs.
