This auction is for a high-quality modern reprint of the vintage WWII manual entitled "Parts Catalog for B-29A Airplanes" T.O. NO. 01-20EJ-4A, 1260p, 20 October 2944. The pictures above are a few of the interesting halftone images from the manual. There are hundreds of these, but most of the manual is a list of the title and part number of each of the pieces shown in the illustration.
This is the manual to study if you really want to know the details of how the airplane is put together. For instance, you can find out how many washers are used on the pullies for the stabilizers. You can see exactly how the gas tanks are connected together - what kinds of valves there are and how they are controlled. There is a detailed diagram of the engineers' control panel and how all the instruments are hooked up. It shows how many bolts are used to hold the motor to the airplane.
Chapters include Motor Installation, Structure Assembly, Astrograph Installation, Bombsight Installation - Model M Series (Norden), Armor Installation, Turret Installation - Upper Forward, Nacelle Installation, Dynamotor Installation - Tail Turret, Tubing Installation - Section 75 Outboard, Cowling - Engine Ring Inboard, Pump Assembly - Vacuum Outboard, and much, much more.

These are not your grandmother's scans. Every page has been hand-corrected to remove as many blemishes as possible. Special care was taken with the half-tone images to make sure all the depth and range of the originals is preserved. Manuals are printed on 24 lb paper and comb-bound with clear plastic front cover and black plastic back sheet. No attempt has been made to make the binding look like the original military 3-post binding. These have plastic comb-binders for each of the 3 volumes. Pages are 8.x x 11 black&white. THIS MANUAL IS SO LARGE WHEN PRINTED ON 24 LB PAPER THAT I HAVE TO BIND IT AS 3 SEPARATE VOLUMES.
Although the original manual that I scanned is public-domain, the changes involved in making this hand-edited edition are copyright James A. Moorer 2009-2010. I have sprinkled small copyright notices throughout the manual. My apologies for this defacement.
