Sauvage Extrait is the most concentrated expression of the Sauvage universe — above the EDT and EDP in intensity, depth, and longevity, with a formulation that sustains on the skin for significantly longer than either lighter form. The 2026 release introduces a decisive change: Vietnamese Oud Essence now occupies the heart position, described by the house as "dense and instinctive," drawing out "warm and animalic leather facets" that evoke what the house calls "the raw and untamed force of Sauvage."

The opening remains the Sauvage signature: lavender from Provence and bergamot — the aromatic freshness that has defined Sauvage across every formulation. But where previous iterations allowed the freshness to persist into the dry-down, the Vietnamese Oud now intercepts it in the heart and pulls it into something darker and more animalic, before the three-wood base arrives: Indonesian Patchouli, Madagascan Vetiver, and Virginia Cedarwood. The house calls this a "powerful chiaroscuro" — the bright, creamy Virginia Cedarwood in contrast with the dark, smoky patchouli and vetiver — an intense woody accord of "unprecedented and modern sensuality."
