Beautiful vintage mid-century German ceramic mantel clock by Scheurich & Greulich (S&G) featuring a wonderfully detailed Black Forest chalet scene with waterwheel, evergreen trees, steps, and architectural detailing.
The rich brown glazed ceramic body is accented with green, yellow, white, and other hand-applied colors, giving it a charming Alpine lodge and Black Forest appearance. The clock is marked with its original S&G Foreign sticker and has a date of December 27, 1955 written on the back, providing a wonderful period reference for the piece.
Features a traditional mechanical wind-up clock movement. It has been tested and is working at the time of listing.
A fantastic piece of 1950s German decor that would display beautifully on a mantel, fireplace, shelf, or alongside a collection of vintage German pottery, chalet decor, or mid-century European pieces.
