Classic E-Series Diagnostic Bridge • Engine Bay Port
Many heritage BMW E-Series models feature a proprietary round 20-pin port under the hood rather than a cabin OBD2 port. This high-integrity hardware bridge connects your modern 16-pin K+DCAN cable directly to the engine bay connector. Plug in, sync your software, and scan your classic vehicle with total stability.
This adapter bridges your K+DCAN cable to the physical 20-pin round port. Please note that certain deep sub-modules on vintage chassis may require specialized protocol mapping or an ICOM interface. This adapter provides the crucial physical link, while full module access depends on your interface and software configuration.
Designed for classic models featuring the round under-hood diagnostic port:
| 3 Series | E30, E36, E46 (Early transition models with 20-pin engine bay port) |
| 5 Series | E34, E39 (Early generation models) |
| 7 Series | E32, E38 |
| Z & X Series | Z3 (All years), E53 X5 (Early production models) |
Cheap generic adapters frequently suffer from incorrect internal pin-mapping that can block module communication or risk short-circuits. Our adapters are strictly "Alphabimmer Approved," utilizing high-integrity pin-to-pin copper wiring engineered specifically for stable, error-free communication with INPA, ISTA, and DIS software suites.
This listing is for a Hardware Adapter Only. To perform vehicle scans and diagnostics, you will still need a compatible diagnostic interface (such as our K+DCAN USB cable) and a Windows laptop configured with BMW software (INPA/ISTA).
