Antique Large Victorian Silver Plated Teapot by Reed & Barton - Pattern No. 53 - AS-IS condition.
You are bidding on one ornate late 19th Century silver plated teapot, found as-is at an estate.
Bottom stamped with Reed & Barton orb trademark
Marked: MF'D & PLATED BY REED & BARTON / 53 / C
Material: Silver plated over copper / white metal base - NOT sterling
Style: Victorian Aesthetic with heavy repousse / chased decoration
Top band with scrolling wave / cloud motif, middle band with floral rosettes, fluted lower body
Gooseneck spout with leaf detail
High arched handle with original light colored insulators
Domed lift-off lid with scroll chased top and mushroom finial knob
This is being sold AS-IS, AS-FOUND, uncleaned.
Heavy tarnish and oxidation over entire surface - needs polishing
Surface wear, scratches, and areas of silver plate loss / brass showing, especially on lower body and high points (see photos)
Discoloration and spotting consistent with age and storage
Small dents / bumps from use, no major crushing but not perfectly round
Inside has age / tarnish, needs cleaning before use - sold for decorative / display purposes
No holes, handle is solid, lid fits
