Arcam Alpha 9 CD player fully recapped( main board and DAC ) with quality Nichicon and Panasonic capacitors. 

It works as ARCAM was intended it to work when it was introduced. Fantastic dynamics with punchy sound, tight bass and warm treble.
It has an original Sony KSS laser that has been tested very good.

I used mainly Panasonic FR capacitors outside the audio path, Nichicon Muse( green ) for the non polar capacitors and Nichicon UKA audio grade to match the SISMIC and ELNA capacitors on the DAC. 

I had to import some of my capacitors from the US as I cannot find them in the UK and don’t trust eBay as they might sell fakes. I buy all my capacitors from Digikey, Mouser or Farnell. I have included photos of before and after. Altogether 20 caps from main board and 30 from the DAC replaced.

The result is that the sound has slightly more bass a bit more treble and is more tight so things like kick drums, snare and percussion really pop out of the speakers. 

This is a trully great CD player and you need to spend much more to get the same kind of dynamics. I own all 7, 7SE, 8 and 8SE as well as the CD92 and CD23 so I can compare the sound between them. The 9 is a great machine but really needs its caps changed if you need to hear what Arcam created in collaboration with dCs.

It comes complete with its original remote, power cord, printed operation manual and ARCAM box.
