Unique Staged ? Great Britain 1823 Folded Paper Envelope w/ Penny Black Stamp - READ

The Penny Black stamp didn't come out until 1843 so the stamp doesn't belong to the envelope.

Posted this to a collector's group and the envelope appears genuine. The stamp on the other hand has been cut and put back together whether it's the original pieces or pieces from different stamp used to make up this one is unknown but consensus seems to be the stamp (pieces) are real

So all in all this is a bit of a mystery - like why did someone put this stamp on this envelope. Are the pieces from one stamp the was cut apart and put back together multiple pieces to make up one stamp
