The FireAngel FA6620-R Optical Smoke Alarm has been designed to make protecting your home simple, with an easy installation process, fewer false alarms, and rigorous testing.

  • OPTICAL SENSOR: The FA6620’s optical smoke-sensing chamber works by 'seeing' smoke as it enters the alarm, making it ideal for slow-burning fires that produce thick, white smoke. Whilst it is less prone to false alarms from cooking fumes, it can still be triggered by steam. Not suitable for kitchens or bathrooms.
  • SEALED-FOR-LIFE BATTERY: The FA6620 smoke detector has a 10-year, tamper-proof battery that will last the lifetime of the alarm. A red operational LED will flash, and an audible beep will alert you when the device needs replacing.
  • FOR DOMESTIC PREMISES ONLY: Suitable for domestic premises, including leisure accommodation vehicles (mobile homes and caravans). Not suitable for commercial properties.

Designed to replace the ST-622 and ST-620 smoke alarms, the baseplate is identical to the ST-622, making replacements quick and easy.

Early Warning System

  • Smoke alarms provide an essential early warning system for potential house fires.
  • The FA6620 smoke alarm holds both CE and UKCA marks, has been rigorously third-party tested, and is certified to BS EN 14604:2005+AC:2008.

Sleep Easy

  • To test your device, press the large test button. A loud, high-pitched sound will verify that the alarm is functioning correctly.
  • In a known false alarm, press and hold the test button to temporarily silence the alarm for 10 minutes.
  • If a low battery alert occurs at night, you can silence the smoke detector for 8 hours by pressing the test button.

Safety Guidelines

  • The FA6620 is suitable for the landing, hallway, bedroom, living room and dining room.
  • Smoke alarms should be sited at least 300 mm from light fittings and walls, and ideally as central as possible in the room.
  • Avoid installing near kitchens or bathrooms.

Safety First

What should I do if my smoke alarm sounds?

In the event of a smoke alarm sounding:

  1. STAY CALM: Don’t panic, take immediate action to ensure your own safety and that of others.
  2. CHECK FOR SMOKE OR FIRE: Look for visible smoke or flames. If you see either, evacuate immediately.
  3. EVACUATE: Leave the premises as quickly as possible using the nearest exit. Do not use lifts. Take the stairs. Ensure everyone is accounted for and exits safely.
  4. CLOSE THE DOORS: Close doors behind you as you leave to slow the spread of smoke.
  5. CALL 999: Once outside, call the emergency services, providing the operator with your location and any details about the fire.
  6. DO NOT RE-ENTER: Do not go back into the building until it has been declared safe by the fire service.
