FOR SALE - the excellent, exceedingly accurate, comfortable, outstandingly reliable and stylish Seiko SNE597, with a solar quartz V157 movement that in my observed usage has barely gained 2 secs per week and is rated by Seiko at 10-15 secs per month; in my month's experience with the watch, it has been far, far more accurate than that. The power reserve on the watch is ten months, so you can quite literally leave it in the drawer in the autumn and pick it up again in spring next year and keep going where you left off, with only the date to change. All box, warranty cards, links and receipts supplied, bought approximately a month ago Jul 2026 but now rendered redundant in my collection thanks to a sudden new arrival. The lume on the dial simply beams out at you at night and the sapphire crystal bevel creates a beautiful effect in the dark, seeming to "double up" the lume on the indices through reflection off the edge of the crystal (please refer to the photos to see this effect in a halfway-dark cupboard under the stairs - it honestly looked that bright even with natural light sneaking in). The watch has virtually no marks, standfast a very minor superficial scuff on the bracelet clasp which is frankly imperceptible in everyday use (this was caused by coming into contact with a brushed-steel laptop surface, so can easily be taken out with scotchbrite or a pen eraser if you want to, or just leave it alone and play it safe). The bracelet is sized for a 6.5" wrist as things stand but can easily be swapped out for more or less links and has 4 microadjust positions on the clasp, together with a diver's extension for swift placement over a wetsuit or jacket sleeve. The watch is very reminiscent not only of the design of the Rolex Submariner but also of the Seiko Diver lineage that goes back to the 6105 and 6309 divers of the sixties. The screw-down scrown has crown guards with their highly polished sides and the case helping to "break up" the depth of the watch on the wrist, meaning it wears smaller than the 41mm diamter would suggest, far more like a 39mm watch in fact (in my opinion, it's a "small" 41mm). The watch will be dispatched to you in the UK free, so if you want this outstanding watch at an outstanding price (roughly £150 below RRP), buy it now. (Sadly, I cannot offer overseas sales and postage will be in the UK to UK based buyers only, thank you).
