Published in 1925 by the National Union of Conservative and Unionist Associations, this 10-page educational leaflet was designed to instill patriotism, imperial pride, and constitutional history in British youth. It served as both a civic primer on the origins of the national flag and a subtle political tool to foster allegiance to the British Empire during the interwar period.

The pamphlet was part of a broader conservative effort to teach children about the geography and majesty of the British Empire, framing the Union Jack as a symbol of freedom, unity, and shared destiny across the globe. 

Distributed during the premiership of Stanley Baldwin, such literature was used to combat opposing political movements (such as communism) by promoting a positive, unifying vision of British heritage and national identity.
