Welcome
to our auction! Many of you know us as longtime collectors and sellers of
antique and vintage Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day and Easter holiday
memorabilia, paper ephemera, antique dolls and toys and fine jewelry.
Over the next several months, I will be listing more incredible pieces of
Hallowe'en history from some of our hobby’s most well-respected and
knowledgeable collectors. I am celebrating more than 25 years of finding new
homes for such wonderful treasures on eBay!
I am seeing an increasing interest from my fellow Hallowe'en enthusiasts for
original photos taken on All Hallows Eve so many moons ago. What makes this grouping
so wonderful is that they are authentic, Real Photo Postcards (RPPC) dating to the
earliest years of the 1900s! They are NOT newly printed reproductions! All four
are holiday photo postcards. Three of them are Hallowe'en and one appears to be
Easter.
The first postcard is an awesome image from the All-Hallow E’en Carnival in
Albany, NY, October 30 to 31, 1905. It depicts an incredible structure called
The South Gate, erected just for the carnival at Westerlo & Pearl Streets. This
postcard is in outstanding condition for its age of more than 120 years. There
are very mild corner bumps and a bit of age-related darkening on the reverse.
It is postally UNused.
Next, we have a divided back postcard, which would date it to approximately
1907 to 1915. It is titled, “Grill Room showing decorations for Hallowe'en,
Hotel Havlin, Cincinnati, Ohio.” It is postally UNused but it does have a
little bit writing on the reverse. There are very minor bumps to a couple of
corners, and a small amount of age-related darkening.
The third postcard is titled, “Hallowe'en ’08, Auditorium (Now Gymnasium),
State Normal School, Mansfield, PA.” Check out the amazing costumes and the lanterns
strung above the celebrants. It has a divided back, and it was postally used.
There is some damage to the corners and some edges, but it displays BOOOtifully.
The last photo postcard features automobiles all decked out for a parade. I’m
not certain that this is a Hallowe'en parade, but it could be an Easter parade.
It’s still an awesome picture! The first car in line looks like it might be a
1914 Studebaker, though that’s just a guess. The condition is nearly pristine,
but there is just a bit of age-related darkening on the back only. It is
postally UNused.
This assortment of four authentic and original Real Photo Postcards would be an
ideal acquisition for enthusiasts of vintage and antique Halloween memorabilia,
early photographic images, and desirable holiday photos from the earliest years
of the 20th century.
Enjoy!

Oh, there’ll be spooky doings
When cometh Hallowe’en,
With black cats loudly meowing,
And witches to be seen;
For ‘tis the night when bats careen,
And hoots the hooting owl,
While in the heavy shadows
The gray ghost slyly prowl.
Happy Hallowe’en 2026!
