Offered for sale is this Beijing Olympics
2008 Limited Edition boxed set of 5 medallions / mascot coins in the original
presentation box, with the plastic Collection Certificate confirming the
limited edition number 8048/60000.
Each
coin features one of the 5 Olympic mascots competing in various sports. The
mascots are called Beibei the Fish, Jingjing the Panda, Huanhuan the Olympic
Flame, Yingying the Tibetan Antelope, and Nini the Swallow. Collectively
they form the “Fuwa”, or good luck dolls.
I understand that the coins are gold
plated. They are approx. 45mm diameter and each coin is encased in a plastic
covering.
The actual coins are offered for sale in
very good condition. The box however is in generally good condition but sadly
has sustained some damage at one corner, and the cardboard sleeve also shows
signs of minor wear and discolouration due to I suspect smoking (see photos).
I
have included lots of photos, please take close look at these as they form a
large part of the description.
